The Message from Butterfly Woman
Butterfly woman interrupted me as I was writing the last section of Decoding the Butterfly Promise, book one of the Godmother Chronicles.
What she said literally turned everything upside down for me. She said simply, ” look at what is right in the world. Look at what’s right in your life.”
Educated in the problem solving method of universities, we look for the problems and then figure out how to solve them. Basically we are trained to look for what is wrong. And boy did I learn that approach well!
I fell off my tuffet because it was almost impossible for me to look at what was right around me or out there. I’d try one and in an instant, bam, I was back to finding what was wrong with what I had just found right!.
But what she said after that put an even bigger hitch in my giddy-up. “The world works differently since 2012. We are now in a new paradigm and the only way to navigate it successfully is to see and build on what is positive.”
Translation. That means we can’t get there from here by problem solving. From now on we intend and visualize based on a positive scenario….not a problem.
Hard as that may be to switch to, we are being given instant and copious opportunities to practice this as we come out of the pandemic scenario.
The Science of Being Positive
This isn’t just happy woohoo talk from delightful Butterfly woman. In fact this is also backed up by science. Here is an article by Jenn Maronek that explains the science of why it is important to see and operate from the positive.
At A Cellular Level, Every Single Human Depends On Positivity To Survive
STEPS TO SEEING WHAT IS RIGHT
We know that fear diminishes our immune system. This article tells us how being positive helps us remain healthy.
- Why not start making a list every day of the five things you noticed that were positive for you.
- And if you want to test the theory of being positive out for yourself, keep a diary of how you felt during each day.
- At the end of couple of weeks have a look at the correlation between finding happy positive things in your day and your real health.
Wellness on, my friends. We can do this.
